Ringwood & Burley

Pub

The Old Beams

Salisbury Road, Ibsley, Ringwood, BH24 3PP

A thatched freehouse pub and kitchen on the A338 at Ibsley, with gluten-free and adaptable dishes marked across its autumn menu and separate fryers for gluten-free food.

The pub says it has designated separate fryers for everything gluten free, so gluten-free food is not cooked in the same oil as the battered cod. The autumn a la carte marks as gluten free the salt and pepper squid, tempura pork belly bites, scallops, ham, egg and chips, grilled loin of pork, chargrilled chicken breast, Brixham fish of the day, sirloin steak, sweet potato fries, skin-on fries and the house salad. Fish and chips, the wild mushroom parcel, the venison bourguignon, the burgers, the prawn cocktail, the crostini, the Caesar salad and the onion rings can be made gluten free.

The menu says dishes are prepared where allergenic ingredients are present, may contain traces, and cannot be guaranteed free of them. The pub moved to its autumn menu in September and a few dishes have come and gone, so check your dish against the current menu and tell your server you are coeliac when you order.

When fish and chips is ordered gluten free, what changes in the kitchen?
